Furmint - Béres Wine Estate and Winery

It is said that Tokaji wine and the Béres Drops definitely have one thing in common: both are genuine Hungarikums. Preserving a Hungarikum and building its value, fame and prestige is an honourable, noble task that comes with responsibility. The Béres family undertook this task when in 2002 they bought an estate in the picturesque Erdőbénye in Tokaj-Hegyalja and started a winery. From the very beginning, they strove to make wines worthy of Tokaj-Hegyalja from the grapes coming from its historic slopes by using a modern approach and technology. They are proud to say they achieved their objective. Their success is proven by the more than 250 prestigious domestic and international awards their wines received in the past 15 years. Moreover, the Béres Wine Estate and Winery won the title of Hungary’s Most Beautiful Wine Estate in 2015.

Category-winner wine: Tokaji Naparany Cuvée 2015

An exciting, dry blend of Furmint and Hárslevelű with perfect harmony created between the former’s acids and the latter’s fruitiness. It has a clearly perceptible complex fragrance structure with tones of peach, roasting and honey. It is characterised by elegance and mature acids, which is lent a roundness by the three months of ageing in oak barrels. Its expressive aromas are made unique by the already slightly perceptible features of bottle-ageing. It is named after its golden tinge and a poem titled In the Wake of Fallen Fools written by renowned Hungarian poet László Nagy to Dr József Béres.
